Prop 8...

OK I'm starting off with a disclaimer... I know a lot of the people who look at this blog are conservative, very right wing republican feeling. Well if you know me you know I am NOT!! So if you're going to read this blog and judge me, and leave a comment being rude I'd much rather you just stop reading now. But if you'd like to prove you're not as ignorant as many people in this nation are go a head and read on, and have an open mind and heart.

So in California, Proposition 8 passed...barely. For those of you who are too busy to know what Proposition 8 is it's a bill that would BAN gay marriage in California, even after it was already passed. That's like telling a child he can have cake before dinner, give him a bite then saying never mind here's your broccoli. This country was based on equal rights to all men and women. This bill is targeting a specific group of people, it's going against human rights.

For those of you sitting there saying God said marriage should be between a woman and a man, well God has no say in this matter. That's why we have separation between church and state!!! Marriage is a legal matter now, you can't go in front of a priest, or a bishop or a minister and go through a ceremony and have all the benefits of a married couple. You have to go to the state and get a license, if you don't believe gays are married in the eyes of God after that, then that's your deal, to you they aren't married, but who are we to revoke that right from them? It also pisses me off that people say gay marriage is making a mockery of heterosexual marriages. Well obviously your marriage isn't very good if SOMEONE ELSE'S marriage is ruining yours. Whether they are gay or straight no one can ruin the sanctity of your marriage except you.

I mean how would you feel if you just got married to the one person you've ever felt clost to, you've felt like your true self with, someone who's seen you at your best and worse and still loves you, and then someone comes in and says that's not allowed. You can't be with that person, you are shameful in God's eyes?? I don't know about you, but the Jesus Christ I know and love, accepted everyone, and loved everyone as his children. I'm not saying you have to think the same as me, but how can you say you're Christ like when you sit and judge others for how they live? And I know you'll just bible bash back at me and tell me scriptures and passages that show Christ didn't' agree with Gay's, but also homosexual practices were very common in that day and age, with Kings, princes, soldiers, and even religious leaders (please don't take that as me saying Jesus was gay it's a general reference).

And it's honestly time to wake up people. The GAYS AIN'T GOIN' ANY WHERE!!!! The are here and they are proud, and they are people too. Closing your eyes and ignoring them isnt' going to make them go away. Why are you denying their right as human beings!?!? The right to visit their loved ones in the hospital after a terrible accident, or if they are battling cancer, the right to executor of their lovers will, how does them receiving these basic human rights hurt you???

I have many friends and family that I care so deeply about that this proposition hurts. I know many of you are in Utah and don't have a say in what happened with this proposition, but it would be so nice if you stopped spreading the hate. Worry about yourself and not others, I thought we all graduated??

So here are some pictures from the wedding. My dear Friend Frances took these. Since it's going to be a while until I get the real ones, I figure these will have to do.

I'M MARRIED!!!

Holy cow it actualy happened...
I was going to write sooner, but with so much going on it was hard to get on the computer for longer then 5 min. It's been so grat. My pictures are going to take a while to get back, beacuse I have a graphics designer doing some really cool stuff to them. But they are going to be amazing, I know it. He's such a great photographer. I've gotten so many compliments on my invitations, and what he did with my picture already I've referred several people to use him. I love it. I also go a ton of compliments on my video. Even my videographer said it was the best one he had done and was excited about having it. The way he displays it on a glass frame is so beautiful it went perfect with my outdoor venue. And my guest book was the biggest hit of the night. The photobooth was such a perfect idea to remember everyone who came to my wedding.
Thank you to everyone who made it, I know it was difficult with it being on a monday, being up in the canyon, and not allowing chilfren, but from the feedback I've been getting from all of you, I hear it was all worth it!!! I can't wait to get my finished video and try and post some of it on here. It truely was a fairy tale. WIth the wind blowing my cathedral length veil as I walked down the aisle with my two loving parents, to James' dad's beautiful ceremony, the food was perfect, the flowers were nice, and the music was amazing to dance to. Thank you again everyone for being apart of that special moment, I didn't invite many people, so I hope you feel special to have come!!!

I will be posting pictures as soon as I get them. So then everyone can see what they missed out on if you were unable to make it for whatever reason you had.

Our Honeymoon to Puerto Rico was fantastic, we stayed in the Ritz Carlton and everyone was so nice and accompidating. Anything we needed they took care of it for us. The beaches were fantastic and we layed out every day. Old San Juan was amazing, so SWpanish influenced still that I felt as though I was over seas in Spain. The cobblestone roads and the beautiful architecture was amazing! And I especialy loved all the cats!! I'll be putting up honeymoon photo's soon, but James has the camera right now so I have to wait till he's home from work. Sigh, yes our first day back and he has to go straight to work. Very depressing. Well I'm just doing our laundry today and then working this weekend.

Halloween is coming!!! And I can't wait. James and I are going shopping for Halloween costumes tonight, we have some pretty good ones for you all. I will be working on Halloween and will be all dressed up that night as well, so come into the Taylorsville Roadhouse get some grub and say hi!!! It'll be a HOOT. Love you all and thanks again to everyoen who helped support and had a great time at the wedding. kiss kiss

OK, so I guess time IS starting to go quickly...

This saturday it'll be one month until I get married... AAAAHHHHHH.... Now time is going by quickly, and yet it still isn't quite fast enough. Can't it just be tomorrow?? At least I have my wedding shower to look forward to. Kinda. I was totaly uninvolved in the planning of my shower, I didn't want the added stress, because trust me I already have a ton of it. Now I'm wishing I did involve myself more. My sister didn't get the invitations out until like a week before, no not even a week before!!! That wasn't cool, because half of my friends I invited are scheduled to work, and can't come. And my mom is going to be out of town, thank God though she was barely able to get an earlier flight back home to make it. Although I as well am scheduled to work on Sat, because my manager "forgot" to schedule me off. This is great. So we'll just see how this goes.....

ALSO!!! The paper for my invitations was on major back order, so I wn't be getting them until the 23rd!!!! I will barely be getting my invited out a month ahead of the date. I was hoping to do 6 weeks in advance so that when I recieved unable RSVP's, I could get the next wave of invites out with 4 weeks to go. I'm totaly bummed about this situation... At least we're getting our photo's printed for free and on better quality paper from the guy. Still, it's just one more f*cking thing I have to deal with.

I put up the play list for our wedding video.... The song Accross the universe isn't really on there, but I just LOVE that song. And one other song is missing. It's Me First and the Gimmie Gimmies, "Isn't She Lovely". So I hope you enjoy. We filmed the love story interview of our video a little while back. I hope it doens't look dumb. I'm nervouse my individual interview part will be, cuz James got to go first and he said everything I wanted to say... and it's so hard for me to put into words just exactly how I feel for him.

Anywho, enjoy your day, I'll try to enjoy mine.
